no level cap increase well that f*&*ing stupid. that is the dumbest thing ever. so what they just gonna keep extending the game and we play half the game once we are level 20 seems pointless

You guys play to level?

Me, I play to win, preferrably through skill.

If you guys want eternal levelling treadmills & to beat newbies who're a lower level than you and therefore completely chanceless regardless of how good they are... Well, I hear World of Warcraft is good.

Why is it pointful to be over level 20? What good does it do you? You've gained all 200 attribute points (with the two 15 point quests). You get extra skill points so I guess that's alright (you already do now without gaining levels). I guess it'd give you extra health. But if you gained that, then the downfalls of the runes would have to be raised to compensate.

Being level 20 it still makes these areas in the game worth playing:

Crystal Desert - Southern Shiverpeaks - Sorrow's Furnace - Fire Islands - Fissure of Woe - Underworld.

Being level 30, for example, makes these areas in the game worth playing:

Fissure of Woe - Underworld (and the level of the monsters isn't level 30 mostly, I do believe) Besides, it'd make these areas of the game even easier.

Honestly, I prefer more diverse skills, possibly additional classes, and expanded storyline. Also, I can't wait till they spec out the critters with more than one class and more than 4 skills. That will make things more challenging.
I personally would rather have reasonable to high challenge in 6 areas then low challenge in two.

If we stay at level 20, then it offers the developers to do more interesting things with the creatures to make them stronger, besides just taking on more levels. The game would get infinitely more interesting if creatures set up durable ambushes, used tactics similar to PvP tactics, used traps (like the big crushers in SF) and terrain to their advantage, instead of just getting bigger and hardier.

Also, you can't deny how great it would be to help a new-to-the-game playing friend get from the beginning of the Crystal Desert to the expansion areas of the game without having to worry about his or your own level, since if you're both at level 20, you can push through as slowly or quickly as possible without having to 'grind' or 'farm' if you didn't want.

That's why we don't use level as an indicator for aptitude.
In some other game someone can tell you how "strong" their character is by just saying "I'm a level 150!" - which is only achieved through grind.
But in GW you can't get away with advertising your grind. You have to prove yourself no matter what. Being lvl 20 only means you put in the time to ascend your character to the level of competency - after that it's all about creativity and skill - as it should be.

I think Arenanet should include new races, although not gay ones like gnomes, because I hate seeing a gnome/dwarf with the best armor in the game and they do like 5,000 damge, that's WoW. So what races should they include? I believe they should add Charr, I mean come on, who wouldn't want to be a charr? You have the Shaman, the Chaot, the Warrior, it fits perfectly! They should have like different stories for them too, as you, if you were a charr, you take over Ascalon then the story kicks from there. You could also probably add Shining Blade and the White Mantle too probably, that would be sweet.

that is kinda wierd though if you get to lvl 20 but you still keep fighting and killing stuff you dont gain anything...it is like you are the enlightened one and you can learn nothing more...so in my opinon i am not a fan of the 20 lvl cap

yeah lvl 20 cap sucks, if only it took longer to get there, with more benefits between levels and after lvl20 would be fine.

1)In the coming expansion they said something about being dwarfes O_o!!!
2)Its true they said that they wouldnt increase the lvl capacity but who knows....a gr8 PR stunt from them if they do...
3)The point is that u have to buy the game one more time to have more chars...(the registration kode) but i think there are gonna be upgrades that are gonna increase the number of chars(apart from WoW where u have 2 pay per month where do they get the money from???).These upgrades are probably gonna cost some money...

From what I've gathered, the level cap won't change, and there will be additional character slots in paid expansions (no clue how many, but I remember reading an article off the official site that said something along the lines of "we realize 4 slots is quite low for playing all the characters/combos".

Vancha - more like a huge PR failure if they do raise the level cap. The level is capped at level 20 so there is no pointless level grinding as well as to keep an "equal" playing field for everyone. Since it's so easy to get to level 20.. level's are irrelevant in the game and all that counts is the skills on your skill bar and your skill in using them.

They have also stated that they want to ensure that players who don't buy an expansion won't be left behind - which is exactly what a level cap rise for expansion players would do, it would take away the level field and force players to buy the expansion if they want to compete/keep-up. Which is not what ANet want.

Go read Xue Yi Liang's post. They said it better than I could

And it doesn't take long to get there because taking longer to get there = increased gring & you then start having the "elite" bozo's going around with their "I'm level 20!" garbage Forget the damn level - all you get is more health from level's anyways.. and up to 200 attribute points.. and skill points. What matters is how you play.. not the fact that your level 2 or 20

I don't know how they will have a full expansion without raising the level cap... cause I mean.. the monster levels will continue to rise, it'll get to the point of where the game will actually be impossible to beat - literally. Maybe they will have an Attribute npc that lets you buy attribute points with skill points or with experience or something? ... I don't know. Anet will think of something, cause they made this game exceedingly balanced... I just can't come up with an explanation.

BUT, for all of you who don't find a point to the level 20 cap, you aren't quite understanding... this game wasn't built for training, and it wasn't specifically built for pve. This is a PvP game, that had a pve section added. This is a game of tournaments, not of beast-slaying. Think of a counterstrike rpg. That's how I see it.

They don't need to necessarily raise the levels, look at the Sorrow's Furnace update...they can just have different monsters, with different skill sets & tactics. I don't really see much of a reason at all for them to raise their levels if they can just alter their playstyle instead.
